Union’s Brock, Caldwell named D-II South Region All-Americans
JACKSON, Tenn — Union University senior Marterrace Brock was named to the D2CCA All-South Region Team.
Brock, a 6-foot-4 senior guard from Memphis, Tenn., led Union this season with 20.3 points per game.
Union finished the year 21-11 overall and was third in the GSC with a 13-9 record. Union advanced to the semifinals of both the GSC Tournament and the NCAA D2 South Region Tournament.
Union University women’s basketball was well represented on the D2CCA All-South Region Team with Tiara Caldwell being named first team, while senior Kelsey Risner was named second team.
Caldwell, a 6-foot-2 junior forward from Memphis, Tenn., led Union with 15.1 points per game.
Risner, a 5-foot-9 senior guard from Waynesboro, Tenn. led Union with 9.8 rebounds per game. She averaged 10.6 points per game and was tops on the team and GSC with 91 made 3-pointers.
Union finished the season 28-4 overall and a GSC record of 20-2. Union won their second straight GSC regular season title and posted the most conference wins in the history of the GSC. Union finished runner-up in the GSC Tournament and advanced to the first round of the NCAA DII National Championships as a No. 1 seed in the South Region.
