Sandra WilliamsAlmost 26 years in the library and Williams still loves reading to children and watching their imaginations soar.
“I love to see their eyes light up when I read something like the ‘Gruffalo.’ I love it when they come to me in the hallway and say ‘are you gonna read that story again? Are you gonna read us an exciting story?'”
Williams grew up in Hardin County then attended Middle Tennessee State University to receive a degree in elementary education.
“I just have a love for reading that I got in 4th grade at White’s Elementary and it has just made me want to make a difference.”
She said she likes to get the students reading out loud and sharing stories.
“Reading is the key to success. On our plaque that we have up there it says ‘today a reader, tomorrow a leader,'” she said. “You’ve got to be able to be a good reader and that’s what I ‘m trying to accomplish.”
