Hannah Huguley grabs TWSA player of the week

JACKSON, Tenn — “Union University’s Hannah Huguley was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s Volleyball Player of the Week on Tuesday, registering a triple-double and a double-double in four outings for the Lady Bulldogs. This is Union’s first honor from the TSWA on the season, and the first of Huguley’s career.

The Clay, Ala., native collected 12 kills, 20 assists and 16 digs versus Oklahoma Panhandle State University, becoming the first Union player to post a triple-double since Huguley accomplished the feat three times in 2014. The senior added 19 assists and nine digs versus Southwest Baptist and 15 assists against Harding University.

In the final match of the SBU Classic, Huguley recorded five kills, 22 assists and 10 digs versus the University of Illinois Springfield. For the season she has 41 kills, 216 assists, 71 digs and 10 blocks in 29 sets for Union. For her performance on the weekend, Huguley was named to the SBU Classic All-Tournament team.”
