She says her favorite part about teaching is the children and that she loves teaching high school students.

“They are just fantastic,” Hall-Norell said. “I love the way high schoolers think. I love the way they interact with each other. I just love everything about teaching high school.”

She says being a successful educator amounts to more than teaches material. She says the students also must learn to be better thinkers.

“To have them coming out of here being able to think, to be able to assess information, to be able to analyze information and to be able to think for themselves,” she said.

Hall-Norell now will be eligible for the statewide Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Month award. Starting in January, to vote for her or any of the other nominees, visit seehowitaddsup.com.
