Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Week: Jackie Nash

DENMARK, Tenn. — Since her teenage years, Jackie Nash has had a heart to educate young children.

“It’s always been a desire in my heart to be a teacher. I’ve always been around children, loved children, ever since I was 16,” Nash said.

Nash teaches Pre-K at Family Christian School and was one of the founding educators.

“I just love the energy and their unconditional love. If you’re having a bad day, you come in here and you’re not going to. You’re going to leave with a smile on your face, and they’re just a treasure and a joy,” Nash said.

This is Nash’s final year of teaching before moving into a nursing profession, but she says there’s one thing she’ll miss about seeing these smiling faces every day — “… it would be the hugs and the love I get every day, because it’s just really special,” Nash said.

Nash is now eligible for the statewide Tennessee Education Lottery Educator of the Month award. Starting in February, to vote for her or any of the other nominees, visit www.seehowitaddsup.com.
