By: Keli McAlister

A Madison County grand jury will hear the identity theft case against William Joseph Timms.  Thursday, Timms appeared in Madison County General Sessions Court where a judge handed down his decision.

Timms is charged with stealing the identity of William Lewellen.  Lewellen, a Pennsylvania truck driver, admits to picking Timms up as he hitchhiked.  Lewellen says that’s when Timms stole his wallet.

Investigators say Timms applied for a job and was hired at St. Michael’s Motor Express Company in Jackson using Lewellen’s information.

Timms remains in jail in lieu of $25,000.
