Homicide Walk Remembers Victims

Homicides were
on the minds of many at Union University in
Jackson Monday night, as hundreds turned out
to remember their loved ones who were taken
by the hand of another.
The second
annual walk called "Remember Me" included a
banquet, half mile walk, and a balloon
release. Local law enforcement joined
families and friends who carried the
pictures of loved ones during the walk.
"It's a chance
to come out and remember their loved one
that they lost to homicide," said
co-organizer Nita Mehr. "It's a very
important time for the survivors who come
each year."
The homicide walk was organized by the Trauma, Faith and Resilience program of the Center for Just and Caring Communities at Union University.
