The former
Assistant Chief Deputy at the Madison
County Sheriff's Department has appealed
a court decision upholding his
termination.
According to
Sheriff David Woolfork, a hearing will
be held on William "Butch" Mitchell's
appeal to the Tennessee Court of Appeals
this Wednesday. Mitchell was fired in
August 2005 for conduct unbecoming an
officer. Since then, he has appealed
decisions to uphold the termination
several times.
Mitchell was
employed by the sheriff's department
from March 1985 until he resigned in
1993. He was later rehired in August
1995.
