Investigators now know more about
the moments that led up to the death
of a Hardeman County woman whose
body was found last month in her
home as the man charged with fatally
shooting her face a judge, Tuesday.
Rickie Sipes, 50 had his preliminary
hearing on the charges of first
degree murder and tampering with
evidence in connection with the
death of Anita Flatt Bray. He was
appointed a public defender and
ordered to undergo a 30 day
evaluation.
According to investigators, Sipes
confessed to them that he walked to
Bray's home the night of September
13 to confront her about money he
believed she stole from him. He said
he confronted her about it, pulled a
pistol and shot her several
times. Officers found the gun and
other items they believe Sipes used
in the shooting, buried underneath
his home, which is down the street
from Bray's address.
