More information is revealed in the shooting death of a west Jackson man as his girlfriend's nephew makes his first court appearance in connection to the crime.

Jarvis Douglas, 21 was officially charged with voluntary manslaughter and tampering with evidence in Jackson City Court, Wednesday. Officers believe he pulled the trigger that killed Mario Morris, 40 October 10. Morris was living with his girlfriend and her nephew, Douglas at the time.  Investigators said Douglas admitted to them he shot Morris at their Park Avenue home. He said it began as an argument between the two when the gun fell from Morris' waistband.  Douglas said he picked up the gun and the two struggled for it, when it went off, hitting Morris in the chest.

Douglas remains behind bars in lieu of $50,000 bond. He will return to court on November 5.
