A new addition to the Henry
County Sheriff's Department is expected to save the department
is expected to save the department money as well as give them a
new look.
The department has purchased a
2008 Toyota Prius and Henry County Sheriff Monte Belew expects
the car to save thousands of dollars in gas money. Sheriff Belew
said the new car, which runs on half gas and half electricity is
an effort for the department to go green and think outside the
box.
"We are going to utilize this
car for the transportation of inmates, long distance trips, and
also it's going to be in routine patrol activities here in Henry
County," said Sheriff Monte Belew.
The sheriff said if the car
proves to be a big savings for the department they will plan on
purchasing another to add to their patrol fleet
