Friends of the slain Jackson locksmith and decorated marine are planning to offer a reward leading to any information in the capture of his killer. This comes just days after Troy Mitchell died from the gunshot wound he sustained Wednesday while trying to help a customer.

Saturday many of Mitchell's friends gathered to announce their quest to find the person responsible. Even Jackson Mayor Jerry Gist, Representative Jimmy Eldridge and members of law enforcement were on hand to offer their support.

Friends of Mitchell said they have set up the Troy Mitchell fund at Bancorp South, and you can donate at locations all over West Tennessee. His friends said they have already raised $2,000.

According to George A. Smith and Son's funeral home, Mitchell's funeral is set for Wednesday, November 4 at 1pm. The services will be at Englewood Baptist Church in Jackson.
