A fire on Halloween
night destroyed an Obion County grocery store and
leaves those who live there looking for a place to
buy food in the northwest Tennessee town.
According to
investigators, the Saturday night fire started in
the meat department of E.W. James and Sons
supermarket before spreading to the entire
building. Three employees and one customer were
treated for smoke inhalation and released. A
spokesperson for the store said employees have been
shifted to other E.W. James locations.
Store officials said
they are looking for a temporary location for their
store and have plans to rebuild on the site in Troy.
