An advocacy group for the Hispanic community has opened the doors of a new center in Jackson.

Representatives with Adelante celebrated their grand opening inside the RIFA building, Tuesday. Adelante is a non profit group that encourages leadership, development and participation of the Hispanic community in west Tennessee. Leaders said it was not difficult to realize that the area needed a location that could help those in the Hispanic community.

"We got together and started sharing our stories, everybody kind of had the same questions, so we figured in order to be able to better help them we need to be centrally located in one place, said  Ida Yelvington, chairman of the Adelante Advisory Council.
