Jailed, Accused of Setting Fire to Roommate

Two Jackson men are
in jail, accused of dousing their roommate with
alcohol, setting him on fire and then holding him
captive.

Sam Stevenson, 44 and
Brian Brawner, 28 were arrested this morning on
charges of attempted murder and especially
aggravated kidnapping. The 52-year-old victim
suffered severe burns over much of his body and is
listed in stable condition at a Memphis hospital.
The victim told police that around 11 Monday night,
his roommates set him on fire in their home in the
100 block of Alexander Street. It was not until
this morning that he was able to call for help.

Stevenson and
Brawner will face a judge Wednesday morning.
Investigators are not releasing a motive for the
attack.
