A Lane College student is free on a $10,000 bond after Jackson police said they found him with a gun and drugs on campus.
Jovon Blanden, 19 was charged
Thursday morning in Jackson city court with unlawfully
having a gun on school property and marijuana possession.
According to court papers, Blanden was sitting in a parked
car on Lane's campus, Wednesday night, when an officer
noticed him smoking a marijuana cigarette. When his car was
searched, officers also found a loaded revolver under the
driver's seat.
Calls to Lane College have not been returned.
