A McNairy County teacher was recognized for her hard work in education and is now considered the best of the best.
 
Patty Kiddy, a teacher in the McNairy County School System was named Tennessee Teacher of the Year during a special ceremony at the governor's mansion in Nashville, Thursday evening. 
 
According to Director of Schools, Charles Miskelly, Kiddy is a great teacher and is very deserving of this award. She has been teaching first grade at the same school, McNairy Elementary for the past 37 years. Miskelly said he is proud of Kiddy and the recognition it brings to the school system. Recently, Kiddy was named Teacher of the Year by the Selmer Lions and Rotary Clubs.
