A farm tractor crash claims the life of a Savannah man. 

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, Jackie Alexander, 64, was driving up a steep hill on Lakeway Lane in Savannah just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday.  Troopers believe while going up the hill, the tractor slipped out of gear. 

Evidence shows the machine rolled backwards, went off the side of the road and down a steep embankment.  Investigators say Alexander tried to use the brakes.  But they failed. 

The tractor then rolled over, trapping Alexander underneath it.
