Closing

Almost 100 workers are told
they're out of their jobs at the Kongsberg Automotive
Factory in Selmer. Twenty-two-year-old Lenze McGriggs
is one of those workers who's a single mom.
She worries how she will
support her son now. " I don't know what to do. I
didn't know, not expecting this. I want to cry but
what's the use of crying when it's not gonna change
anything."
In a statement, Kongsberg
Automotive says it's closing in order to save money to
remain competitive. The Norway-based company, which
produces light duty cables for outdoor power equipment
and furniture, will officially shut its doors October
1st.
McNairy County Mayor Jai
Templeton says the news took him by surprise.
"We were just completely
taken off guard and shocked by this."
