Keli rejoined the ABC 7 Eyewitness News Team in
January of 2008 and
can be seen week nights on ABC 7 Eyewitness News at
6 & 10.
Before her return home to West Tennessee, Keli's
news career has taken her across the country. While
at KCPQ in Seattle, she reported on events ranging
from the 2004 eruption of Mount St. Helens to
devastating wildfires to the deadly shooting at
Seattle's Jewish Federation Building. Keli
also worked as a Reporter at KWTV in Oklahoma City,
where she "chased" her fair share of tornadoes and
covered stories from the execution of Timothy
McVeigh to Hurricane Lili to the Shuttle Columbia
tragedy. Keli launched her career right here at ABC
7 Eyewitness News. After graduating from Union
University, Keli worked as a Reporter and Anchor and
even had the opportunity to follow the Tennessee
Titans all the way to Super Bowl XXXIV.
Throughout her career, Keli has been recognized for
her work on and off air. In 2000, she was selected
as an "Outstanding Young Tennessean" for her
philanthropic work with several West Tennessee
children's organizations. She was acknowledged
numerous times for her volunteer work at the
University of Oklahoma's Children's Hospital and
Seattle's Children's Hospital. She has also been
recognized with the "Tennessee School Bell Award"
for outstanding education reporting and by the
Oklahoma Broadcasting Association.

and we received word that Mary Winkler would be released
from jail. We were able to take a live shot and cut into
the show with the breaking news. It was such a thrill to
be able to bring our viewers the information as it was

So far, the most compelling story I have worked on is
the proposed annexation of a part of Northwest Madison
County. Both sides are passionate about their
arguments: the opposed residents feel they don't need
Jackson's assistance, and that the annex would be a
waste of city resources. While the city sees it as
the best way to promote growth in Jackson, and to help
the Hub City in the long term. Favorite Quote:

Most Interesting Assignment: In September
2005, I accompanied
the 7's Army tractor trailer truck to Laurel,
Mississippi. The truck was
filled with water donated by West Tennesseans for the
victims of
Hurricane Katrina. On the trip I saw firsthand the
devastation of the
storm and met
dozens of victims from across the Gulf Coast. I
also
helped
unload all that water! By the end of the assignment I
was
physicallyexhausted, but knowing we helped, even in a
small way was
gratifying.

Covering a 47 year old kick
boxer from Tennessee...who was
trying to get in the Guinness book
of World Records as the oldest male

I reported anchored and produced for Insight,
the cable news program at the University of
Memphis. I later interned at WMC-TV in Memphis.
While at Channel 5, I was involved in virtually
every facet of newsgathering, including editing
video, writing packages, conducting interviews
