WBBJ-TV has an opening for an General Assignment Reporter. You must, at least, have a proven track record as a Reporter with Producing and Live Shot experience.
Individual must develop contacts and sources, use them to break stories on a regular basis, have strong writing skills, news judgment, and live reporting skills.
This position is a one-man band position. Must be able to shoot, write and edit compelling stories. You must bring workable, turnable story ideas to the table every day. You must be well-organized and be able to multi-task and work well in a newsroom environment. Strong knowledge of West Tennessee is preferred.
You will join a strong, aggressive team and establish yourself in a market that competes directly with Memphis and Nashville stations daily. If you eat, breathe and sleep news - this is the job for you.
Over the past 4-5 years we have had reporters jump to Oklahoma City, Knoxville, Huntsville, Little Rock, Greenville, SC and Jackson, MS stations and beyond.
Rush tapes and resumes. This position must be filled immediately. A college degree in Journalism and a good driving record are required.
