Lane: Two Coaches Fired, One Promoted
One of the most historical black colleges in the nation remains in a state of flux when it comes to their athletic department. Controversy continues to circle the Dragons of Lane College, as once again there is a changing of the guard.
Tuesday,
Lane announced the dismissal of Head
Football Coach Dearrion Snead.
Snead was
introduced as Athletic Director and Head
Football Coach just seven months ago.
Also, Assistant Coach Leon Gray has been
let go. The
College says the firings were prompted
after actions that “directly affected
the academic integrity of the College.”
The school says
the two deliberately altered documents
for a prospective student before
submitting them to the Admissions
Office.
Snead was let go before ever
coaching a game for the Dragons.
Former Special Teams Coach Trent Boykin has been promoted to Head Coach. Boykin says you can expect him to be a hands on leader.
