Diamond Jaxx Fall in Final Game of Series
The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx fell behind early in Sunday's 6-2 loss to the Jacksonville Suns.
The Suns scored four runs in the first inning off starting pitcher Ryan Ketchner who fell to 7-6 on the season. Ketchner gave up seven hits and five runs (four earned) in 5.2 innings of work.
Reliever Craig James took over in the sixth and threw 2.1 innings of shutout baseball. Marwin Vega finished the game throwing the ninth allowing one earned run.
On the offensive side, the Jaxx bats were hitting well, just not at the right times. The Jaxx had 10 hits scoring only two runs and leaving 11 men on base.
Adam Moore went 3-4 on the night with one RBI. The other run came off a passed ball from Suns catcher Lucas May scoring Brent Johnson.
The Diamond Jaxx take Monday off then hit the road for a five game series in Chattanooga. Game time is 6:15 p.m.
