Jaxx Cruise to Win in Chattanooga

The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx cruised to a win against the Chattanooga Lookouts Friday night 7-1.  Excellent performances from starting pitcher Travis Chick (3-5) and catcher Adam Moore led the team to clinching the win for the five game series.

Travis Chick pitched eight innings for the Jaxx giving up only one run.  Through the eight innings, Chick recorded eight strike outs, while giving up only four walks and four hits.  Marwin Vega came in for the ninth inning.  He gave the team a scare loading up the bases with no outs, but pulled through giving up no runs and sealing the win for West Tenn.

Jaxx catcher Adam Moore went 4-5 on the night, including a solo homerun in the top of the ninth.

Also contributing at the plate, third baseman Matt Mangini went 3-4 including a double in the fourth.  Center fielder Greg Halman got two doubles, and first baseman Marshall Hubbard hit a homer to right center field.

The Jaxx have one more game in the series at AT&T field in Chattanooga.  Ryan Ketchner (7-6) will take the mound against the Lookouts.  First pitch is scheduled for 6:55 CT.
