The
final brackets for the 2009 TSSAA
football playoffs have been
released. Here is where West
Tennessee teams ended up.
In Class
1A, Wayne County, Union City and
Huntingdon all earned first round
byes. Collinwood will travel to
McEwen, Perry County will host
Cornersville, South Fulton will host
Gleason and West Carroll will host
Lake County.
In 2A,
McKenzie and Adamsville both will
have a bye in the first round.
Riverside will host Westwood and
Humboldt will travel to Memphis to
play Douglas.
For 3A,
10-0 Milan will host Stewart County,
Lewis County will travel to Camden
and Westview will also be in
Memphis, taking on Manassas.
Class 4A
is a busy one for West Tennessee.
Giles County hosts Chester County,
South Side will take on David
Lipscomb in Nashville, Lexington
will travel to Spring Hill, Liberty
hosts Trezevant, Obion County will
play Fairley on the road, Kingsbury
will travel to play Crockett County
and Dyersburg will travel to take on
Sheffield.
In Class
5A, Henry County will host
Springfield, North Side will host
Memphis Mitchell and Hardin County
will host Ridgeway.
West
Tennessee has just one team in Class
6A, the Brighton Cardinals, who will
host Kirby.
In
Division II, USJ has a first-round
bye, and Fayette Academy will travel
to take on Franklin Road Academy.
Playoffs
begin Friday, Nov. 6.
