The
Union University men's and women's
cross country teams both claimed
first place in the respective
TranSouth Conference meets on
Saturday.
The men
finished almost seven minutes, total
time, ahead of second-place Blue
Mountain, and the women were just
more than five minutes ahead of Blue
Mountain.
Union
runners also claimed the top
individual spot in both races with
Hannah Clardy winning the women's
race and Alex Brett winning the
men's race.
By
winning the races, Clardy and Brett
were named TranSouth runners of the
year.
Union
junior Carrie Moore was named the
women's Newcomer of the Year, and
coach Gary Johnson was named Coach
of the Year.
Along
with the individual honors, Union
placed Clardy, Moore, Kayla Hauss,
Lilli Harmon and Carissa Wilson on
the women's All-Conference team, and
Brett, Zach Covington and Drake Ott
on the men's All-Conference team.
