For the group of 26
seniors on the Milan
Bulldogs' football
roster, preparation for
this year began long
ago.
"All of us have been
together since seventh
grade," said senior left
guard Cory Hall. "This
is our year to shine."
The large group of
seniors is at the helm
of a 12-0 team waiting
on a date with Camden in
the state quarterfinals.
Head coach Jeff Morris
sees how special the
group is and wants them
on his team as long as
possible.
"This is a group that's
stuck together, didn't
mind the work," Morris
said. "I hope we can
hang onto them a couple
weeks, hope this week
doesn't do it."
Milan figures to face a
tougher test this week
against Camden than they
did in the first two
weeks of the postseason.
In those two games, the
Bulldogs won by a
combined score of
117-28. No matter the
outcome of the game,
Morris will never forget
this squad.
"We have 26 seniors,
hard-working kids.
They're good students,"
Morris said. "This has
been an enjoyable year
and it'll be
well-remembered here, no
matter what happens here
on in."
